Following on from last weeks commitment to journalling. Here is this weeks mind boggler for you?
If you could meet a famous person from the past or present time, who would it be and why?
Mine would definitely be Marilyn Monroe. As a child I was always a massive film fan. I used to sit for hours watching all the classics. My parents used to suggest things for me to watch and then regret it, because I'd watch the same ones over and over again. I'm still devastated that they taped over Slipper and The Rose (Cinderella story).
In fact, I watched so many old films, I remember asking my mother why they didn't get the same lady to play Dorothy when Return to Oz came out. She replied, "because she died!" I didn't realise 'The Wizard Of Oz' was an old film. I simply saw them as films, old, new, it didn't matter!
In the late 80's I can remember us getting an awful snow storm and they replaced the live television with a film called 'There's No Business Like Show Business.' It was the first time I'd seen anything with Marilyn Monroe in. I'd watched literally hundreds of films and never seen one of hers. I thought she was a made up character!
I can remember being so fascinated by her I ended up reading loads and loads of books about her. Each book led me to wanting to read another. As they mentioned some amazing people. JFK, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr and Bette Davis to name but a few. Biographies and autobiographies are probably the start of where I learnt to love journalling. Imagine the amazing people you meet and the things you see but never write down.
So this week, have a really good think about the most famous person you'd like to meet and why.
